Saturday 2 December 2000 at 7:30pmSherborne AbbeyA joint performance with Taunton Camerata of the Liturgy of St John Chrysostom by Rachmaninov. The Abbey was filled with incense and candles and the part of the Deacon was sung by Peter Scorer. A most moving concert.

Pizzetti and Sweelinck

Music included Pizzetti’s Messa Di Requiem, Sweelinck’s Psalms of David, and a selection of Gospel Choruses.During the interval audience and choir enjoyed wine and nibbles in the grounds surrounding the Abbey.

Bach St John Passion

The part of the Evangelist was sung by Julian Podger. It was a thoroughly exhilarating experience for all of us!

Poulenc and Praetorius

Praetorius Lutheran Mass, recently reconstructed as it would have been performed on Christmas Day around 1620.
