Great British choral music for a summer’s evening
We finish our season with a concert celebrating the best of British choral music, including music from today’s top choral composers such as James MacMillan and Jonathan Dove, and some of the well-loved composers who preceded them, including Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells.
We’re delighted to have Sherborne Young Singers with us again. This time they join us for a performance of Canticles of Light by one of today’s most popular composers, Bob Chilcott, specially written for combined adult and youth choirs, and will also be singing on their own.
The programme includes:
Jonathan Dove Missa Brevis
Bob Chilcott Canticles of Light
Vaughan Williams Shakespeare Songs
Howells Take him, earth, for cherishing
James MacMillan Virgin of Guadalupe (from Cantos Sagrados)
