An all Bach programme to begin the season of Advent. After performing his two Passions and the B minor Massover the last few years, this season we turn to some of Bach’s shorter, but no less inspired works, including the exuberant Magnificat, which dates from his first Christmas Day at Leipzig. Accompanied by a period orchestra led by Margaret Faultless, joint leader of the Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment, this promises to be the ideal musical start to the festive season.
