New SCC season

It’s great to be back after the summer break! We’re already well into rehearsals for our Advent concert on 26 November – there’s nothing like singing carols in September! Tickets for Ave Maria in Sherborne Abbey will be on sale on Monday 10 October via our website.

We’ve a huge range of Advent and Christmas carols from across the ages to share – find out more here. The concert will include the long-awaited premiere of a complete setting of the ancient ‘O’ antiphons by David Bednall. We started this project as part of our fortieth anniversary celebrations back in 2019, with a plan to complete the full set over three years. Covid has delayed the completion, so we’re looking forward to performing the complete work finally. Many of us have known David since he was at school in Sherborne, so we’re delighted to continue this long-standing relationship with him. Find out more about David here.
